President Xi Jinping Appoints New Ambassadors

Recently, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:

I. Yu Jianhua was appointed Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, replacing Ma Zhaoxu.

II. Ma Zhaoxu was appointed Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations, replacing Liu Jieyi.

III. Zhang Zuo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, replacing Ma Mingqiang.

IV. Jiang Yan (female) was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Uzbekistan, replacing Sun Lijie.

V. Shen Zhifei was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Lithuania, replacing Wei Ruixing.

VI. Jin Zhijian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Iceland, replacing Zhang Weidong.
