Minister Zhu Qin Attends the Celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the National Day Hosted by Oversea Chinese

   On September 12, Minister Zhu Qin was invited to attend the celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China for all overseas Chinese in Britain at Bang Bang Oriental Foodhall in London. Present at the party were more than 400 guests including Bhagwanji Chohan, Mayor of London Borough of Brent, the leaders of major overseas Chinese communities across Britain and the representatives of Chinese-funded institutions.

   On behalf of Ambassador Liu Xiaoming and the Chinese Embassy, Minister Zhu extended greetings to all Chinese communities in Britain. He then recalled the brilliant achievements of China over the 68 years since its founding, particularly since its reform and opening up. He stressed that, since the 18th National Congress of CPC, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has put forward "Two Centenary Goals" and the grand blueprint to realize the Chinese Dream of the great renewal of the Chinese nation, coordinated and pressed ahead with the "Four Comprehensive" strategy, persisted in the new development concept of innovation, harmonization, green, openness and sharing, to make new achievements in China's economic and social development. The 19th National Congress of CPC that has drawn the attention of the world is going to be unveiled next month, and it will become a milestone to mark China's new historic journey to further progress.

   Minister Zhu noted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of China-UK ambassadorial diplomatic relations, and it is also a year for consolidating the "Golden Era" of China-UK ties. The two countries have achieved fruitful outcome in their cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative, economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and have maintained close exchange and coordination on international and regional issues. China-UK relations have a clearer strategical definition, a more solid basis for cooperation, and well-matched strength. The China-UK relations will definitely bear more "golden fruits" in the "Golden Era".

   Minister Zhu fully recognized the exceptional contribution made by the Chinese who live and work in Britain to strengthen China-UK friendship, spread Chinese culture and support China's development and unification. He encouraged the Chinese community in Britain to continue to contribute to the realization of the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

   The celebration was hosted by the Confederation of Chinese Associations UK as part of a series of activities celebrating the 68th National Day by all overseas Chinese in Britain.
