(Ambassador Liu talks with Murdoch)

On September 3, Ambassador Liu Xiaoming visited the News Corporation and met with Mr. James Murdoch, Chairman and Chief Executive of News Corporation, Europe and Asia, and Mr. Jeremy Darroch, Chief Executive of BSKYS, a subsidiary of the Corporation.

Murdoch welcomed Ambassador Liu and said that the News Corporation values the emerging market in ChinaChina as an important country of the world and an emerging market, and that positive results have been achieved in the many years of cooperation between the two sides. In spite of the adjustments in its business in Asia in recent years, the News Corporation will continue its cooperation with the Chinese companies, as China is still an important market with huge potential for development.

Ambassador Liu commended the active efforts of the News Corporation in engagingdoing business with China and said that the Chinese side pays attentionattaches importance to the cooperation with the Corporation. He hoped that the News Corporation would play an active role in promoting the exchanges between the East and the West, particularly in giving the Western public a comprehensive and objective understanding of China. Foreign companies including the News Corporation are welcomed to develop business in China, and the Chinese Embassy is ready to continue to provide the necessary assistance wherever necessary.

Accompanied by Murdoch, Ambassador Liu visited the news room and sports channel studio of the News Corporation's BSKYS and watched the 3D television programs to be broadcast by the company soon.
