On 19^th June, Councilor Jiang Xuguang met at the Embassy with Mr. Li Wenwei, representative of British Chinese enterprise He Xing Food Co., Ltd., and accepted 21,388 pounds of charity money for earthquake hit Sichuan.

On behalf of the Embassy and Sichuan, Jiang Xuguang expressed thanks to He Xing Food Co., Ltd., individuals and organizations for their donations. She said confronted with the earthquake disaster, overseas Chinese and students in UK stand closely with the Chinese people. Feeling as though they experienced the earthquake in person, they lent their helping hand and made their contributions to supporting disaster relief efforts.

The representative of He Xing Food Co., Ltd. said his company has followed closely the situation in the earthquake areas and initiated charity donation as early as the 19^th May. Clients, suppliers and staff all gave their helping hand. 10,000 pounds of donation came from the company, 2,967 pounds from staff and clients, and 8,421 pounds from suppliers. With the charity donation still under way, he hoped to get continuous support from all walks of life in the UK.
